COMMITMENT
Sustainable development and the Rallye du Maroc are closely linked, guided by the convictions and values that inspire every action of the event.
The Rally enjoys an outstanding reception from both the Kingdom of Morocco and its people, and the organization seeks to create a direct return benefiting local communities. Documentaries produced after each edition reflect this philosophy and show the Rally’s commitment to its surroundings.
Pro Dunes leads a sustainable development policy in collaboration with local authorities, communities, and the Rally’s main partners, also involving the entire rally caravan: teams, competitors, and media.
The Rallye du Maroc is guided by three pillars of sustainable development: economic, social, and environmental. Each pillar translates into concrete, visible actions aimed at generating a positive impact for Morocco and its population.
The Rallye du Maroc is a unique platform to promote Morocco, boost the dynamics of partner companies, and highlight the hospitality and warmth of Moroccans. Furthermore, the sporting event offers an opportunity to develop sustainable and socially responsible initiatives, sending a positive message that can inspire future actions.
ECONOMY
The economic dimension of the Rallye du Maroc is a core pillar of Pro Dunes’ vision. The organization prioritizes Moroccan providers to generate a direct and lasting impact in host regions, while strengthening local employment.
Nearly 80 % of the Rally budget is reinvested locally, creating significant economic activity. Over 30 local companies participate, from building the bivouac (around 400 people) to its daily management (around 3,000 people).
Many Moroccan specialists are integrated into the organization in logistics, audiovisual production, or technical operations, a growing trend edition after edition.
SOCIAL
The social pillar of the sustainability program is based on an essential value: solidarity, closely linked to the rally-raid spirit. The Rally is committed to local communities, contributing positively to their daily lives.
Since 2018, numerous initiatives have been implemented and reinforced edition after edition, with the collaboration of main partners and the involvement of the entire caravan. Actions are structured around three axes:
-
Improving the daily life of people in the host regions.
-
Creating moments of interaction and sharing with local communities.
-
Supporting Moroccan and African competitors in their progression to participate under the best conditions.
HELP
Rally actions are designed to be simple, effective, and practical, responding precisely to local community needs. Projects are planned and executed with the population to ensure active involvement, enabling beneficiaries to manage resources independently and ensure lasting benefits.
CREATE
Moments of sharing with local communities
The Rallye du Maroc seeks to give back to the people some of the hospitality it receives, offering free access and community activities. Public events are organized, such as team presentations and concerts, like the Rallye du Maroc Festival in Marrakech, which gathered over 50,000 spectators in 2024.
Educational and sporting activities are organized for schools and associations, allowing participants to experience the Rally up close: visiting stages, meeting competitors, dining at the bivouac, and engaging with rally personalities and celebrities. In 2024, over 200 children and young people took part in football, basketball, bivouac visits, and school supply donations, promoting inclusion and direct contact with the Rally.
Each edition hosts sports and cultural personalities who share their curiosity and commitment to the community, such as Teddy Riner, Adil Rami, and Adriana Karembeu in 2024. Those unable to attend send supportive messages and videos, expanding the Rally’s reach to new communities.
SUPPORT
Support for Moroccan and African riders
The Rallye du Maroc supports Moroccan and African motorcycle and SSV riders in their training and preparation. Since 2021, the Moroccan Collective was launched, followed by the creation of the Africa Rally Team (ART) in 2022. The program consists of three phases: application review, training, and participation in the Rally with fees covered.
The 2024 cohort selected six competitors, with an 80 % renewal from 2023. Results have been outstanding: 100 % finishers, category victories, including the first Moroccan team win in Open SSV, and strong individual performances in FIM Rally3 and FIA SSV Challenger.
ENVIRONMENT
Preserving the natural environment, essential for the discipline, is a priority. The environmental program is structured around five key areas:
-
Regulatory framework: strict adherence to FIA/FIM rules and local directives, soil protection, noise control, and collection of technical waste. The bivouac is dismantled post-event to restore the site.
-
Waste management: selective sorting, recycling, use of reusable products, and minimizing paper through digital tools; digital roadbooks are mandatory for all competitors.
-
Carbon footprint reduction: route planning to limit travel, promotion of collective transport, and local offset actions, including reforestation of burned palm groves.
-
Other environmental actions: promotion of electric vehicles, low-emission fuels, and a green-energy bivouac using photovoltaic panels.
-
Education and awareness: content is produced to raise awareness among competitors, fans, and the local population through press releases, videos, digital platforms, and on-site signage, supported by internationally recognized ambassadors.
