HELPING
1/ Helping to improve the daily lives of people in the areas hosting the Rally
The Rallye’s actions are designed to be simple, effective and practical, responding precisely to local needs. Each project is evaluated and promoted by and with the local people.
For us, helping the Moroccan people means above all listening to their needs, trying to respond to their requests and, above all, not taking action FOR them but WITH them, which is completely different.
The aim is for the men and women who benefit to be able to manage the resources made available independently, and for the benefits to be lasting, not just for the duration of the Rally caravan’s visit.
Sustainable infrastructure:
- Support programme for the village of Outtara, since 2018. As part of the overall programme to provide the village with access to drinking water, all the pipes will be maintained by 2024.
- Outdoor multisports pitch with changing rooms and toilets in the Zagora region, project launched in 2023. The changing rooms and toilets will be inaugurated in 2024.
The medical caravan, since 2021:
- To provide support to the most remote villages in the areas crossed by the Rally, in consultation and as a team with the local medical authorities, who know the priority needs.
- This is all the more necessary in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis in 2020, which made these people even more isolated.
- In 2024, 400 consultations in the Zagora region, in collaboration with local staff, doctors and nurses. The presence and support of Adriana Karembeu, French Red Cross ambassador, throughout the medical programme.
Responding to specific local emergencies:
CAs in 2019, for the village of Aoufous following the fires in the summer of 2019 which destroyed most of the palm groves: provision of fire-fighting equipment to prevent future disasters.
2023, AN EDITION MARKED BY THE 8 SEPT DISASTER IN THE MARRAKECH REGION
2 ACTIONS IMPLEMENTED THE FOLLOWING WEEK:
- Set up an emergency medical supply in close cooperation with the local authorities.
- Mobilise the Rallye caravan to make donations, both material and financial.
Showing the Rallye du Maroc’s solidarity with the Kingdom and the victims of the disaster by adapting the Rallye du Maroc logo to be published on all communication materials for the 2023 event.
Maintaining the Rally in its original configuration, as desired by the authorities in order to send a positive international signal and stimulate the tourist economy.
In September 2024, major floods hit southern Morocco, and the Rallye du Maroc launched an appeal for donations to all participants, service providers, the media and the entire organisation in order to bring school supplies, clothes, toys and books to the pupils of the Mengoub-Bouârfa school. The pupils came to visit the Rallye du Maroc bivouac in Mengoub-Bouârfa and were able to discover the donations brought by the rally caravan.
